Day 01 : Pick up from Colombo and visit Sigiriya

Our professional English speaking chauffeur will warmly welcome you at the arrival of Airport and then start more safely the great journey to enjoy Colombo to Sigiriya. Afternoon we plan to hike Sigiriya Lion Rock.

Sigiriya also known as the Lions Rock is a rock fortress and a palace located in the Matale district near Dambulla.. This ruin is surrounded by gardens, ponds and other structures. Sigiriya was built by King Kassapa and it is included as a World Heritage site. Sigiriya is the best preserved city centre in Asia.

Day 02 : Polonnaruwa to Minneriya

Start the journey to reach Polonnaruwa ancient city and then the afternoon Safari in Minneriya National Park.

Polonnaruwa was the thriving commercial and religious centre of Sri Lanka some 800 years ago. It is the Islands 2nd largest kingdom. It consists of a lot of temples and religious buildings. For three centuries it was the royal capital, of both the Chola and Sinhalese kingdoms. In Polonnaruwa, it all started in the late 10th century when the South Indian Chola dynasty had conquered Sri Lanka.

Next we reach to Minneriya National Park.

Minneriya National Park is located 182 km away from Colombo in the North Central Plains of Sri Lanka. The major city closest to Minneriya National Park is Polonnaruwa. Minneriya National Park has recorded over 170 species of birds. From Migrating waders like Woodsand Piper, Common Sandpiper & Kentish Plovers to forest birds like Malabar-pied Hornbills, Rufus Woodpecker the globally endangered Lesser Adjutant and the endemics Sri Lanka Grey Horn-bill, Sri Lanka Green Pigeon, Brown-capped Babbler and Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl are some of the highlights.

Day 03 : Kandy and Dambulla

The thired day, start the journey to reach Kandy. Kandy city is a master piece of scenic beauty it still has its majestic appearance of being the last capital of Sri Lanka. The ruins of the Kings palace are still one of its prestigious land marks of the citys ancient history.

While reaching Kandy, we plan to visit Dambulla Temple. Dambulla is the one of the ancient historic emblems in Ceylon. The Rock Temple of Dambulla, called Jumbukola Vihara (Dambulla Cave Temple) in the (Mahavansa)-the principal Pali Chronicle of Sri Lanka, is situated about forty seven miles north west of Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, on the main road to Anuradhapura.

The Dambulla temple has five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasis the artistic talent of ancient days. The fascination of these caves is not only the statues but also the many intricate and delicate paintings that cover the ceiling and walls, created with indigenous traditional paints.

In the evening we can visit Temple of The Tooth (Dalada Malaigawa) and overnight stay at Kandy. Sri Dalada Maligawa or The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is Sri Lankas most important Buddhist shrine. It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times. Both Kandy and the temple (as it is in it) are now listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Day 04 : Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden

Next day morning you will visit to Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, near Kandy, Sri Lanka, noted for its rich and varied collections of tropical woody plants. Occupying 59 hectares (146 acres), it has about 4,000 species of plants. King Wickramabahu III ascended the throne and kept court in Peradeniya near Mahaweli Ganga. During the reign of King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe from 1747 to 1780, it was made a royal garden, and from 1780 to 1798 King Rajadhi Rajasinghe resided there and a temporary residence was constructed for him.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken to Colombo or drop off you to the Airport according to flight time.
